Nancy Heilman, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist with over twenty-five years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families. Clinical treatment methods have included family therapy and parenting skills training, individual therapy for children and adolescents utilizing cognitive-behavioral interventions and skills-training.  Specialties include anxiety and adjustment disorders, brain injury, neurodevelopmental disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and chronic and terminal illness. Her clinical approach is primarily evidenced based, cognitive-behavioral, family systems, developmental, and neuro-biological in nature.

Clinical Assessment Services:

  • Neurocognitive and developmental assessments to rule-out autism spectrum disorders and ADHD;
  • Psycho-emotional evaluations when the primary focus is depression and anxiety.
  • Intellectual and academic evaluations to assist with educational planning;

Clinical Treatment Services:
Engages in individual therapy for children and adolescents which always includes parents / family involvement. Dr. Heilman also has extensive experience working with military families in both Europe and the Pacific. In addition to the above, subspecialties include pediatric psychology (psychological issues arising from a medical diagnosis), grief and loss, terminal illness, and adjustment issues.
